In Irish mythology, The Morrígan ("phantom queen") or Mórrígan ("great queen"), also written as Morrígu or in the plural as Morrígna, and spelt Morríghan or Mór-ríoghain in Modern Irish. She was considered a goddess, although she is not explicitly referred to as such in the texts.

She had a contract with Atticus to keep him alive as long as his existence was a thorn in the flesh of Aenghus Óg. Eventually she fell in love with the Iron Druid and - in order to fulfil the contract and commit suicide - she protect Atticus, Granuaile and Oberon in Romania a last time and was killed by the Olympic goddesses of the hunt Artemis and Diana.
